The reports claim that Canon’s embargo for the announcement regarding the EOS 7D’s successor is scheduled to end at midnight on the 5th of September, about a week and a half before Photokina which kind of makes sense. It would give Canon ample time to setup their booth at the event and get their units ready for possible hands-on.
So far what we know about the EOS 7D’s successor is based purely on the rumors. Assuming the rumors are right, we could be looking at a 20MP sensor, ISO range from 100-12,800 which can be extended to 25,600, shutter speed of 1/8000, phase detection AF, 8fps shooting, and a 3-inch LCD display.
Take it with a grain of salt for now, but with a couple of months to go before Photokina 2014, hopefully we will hear more about the Canon EOS 7D MK II by then, so check back with us at a later date for the details!
