BlackBerry Passport Shown Off Next To Bold 9900, Looks Huge

When BlackBerry introduced the Passport, we’re sure many eyebrows were raised. It’s not that the handset is a bad phone, it’s just that its 1:1 display aspect ratio felt a little weird in a world full of rectangular displays with aspect ratios of 4:3 or 16:9. BlackBerry has since gone on to promote its display as being the ideal display for work and play.

Now thanks to a new photo that has surfaced, we can see above the BlackBerry Passport in comparison to the BlackBerry Bold 9900. The Bold 9900’s display isn’t that small by itself, but you can clearly see that the Passport dominates the Bold 9900 in terms of overall size and display size.

We guess based on this comparison, BlackBerry does have a good point when they claim that using the Passport to view documents and edit spreadsheets would be ideal since it does offer the user a lot of screen real estate. However it does look a little too big to be used one-handed, so we guess we’ll have to try it for ourselves to get a better idea.

In the meantime what do you guys think? Could BlackBerry truly be onto something with the BlackBerry Passport?
