What does this mean? Well hopefully what this means is that the app is currently undergoing testing and that it should be able to meet its original deadline of a July release. Of course we expect that this could be subject to change, depending on whether any breaking bugs are discovered in the app ahead of its release, but assuming all goes well, hopefully we will hear something from BlackBerry soon.
The release for Windows Phone follows the release of BBM for iOS and Android, although it comes more than half a year later. BBM used to be an exclusive for BlackBerry devices, but we guess BlackBerry thought that they would cover more ground by opening up the app to non-BlackBerry devices, and then monetize it via BBM Channels. So far their efforts have proved to be a success.
Unfortunately no screenshots were provided at the Windows Phone Store, but either way do check back with us in the next couple of weeks to see if there are any additional details that can be had regarding the app’s availability.
