Previously Apple had begun piloting the service at several of its stores, but according to 9to5Mac, they claim that the program will be kicking off in earnest this coming Monday. So why is this a good thing? Well having it repaired in-store will most likely have customers get their phones back within the day.
They also know that whoever is repairing it is a qualified technician, at least by Apple’s standards. The price to replace a damaged iPhone 5s display is said to be priced at $150 which is admittedly pretty expensive, but compared to paying $269 for a replacement unit, it seems a bit more affordable.
While this is great for customers, it is also good for Apple. Tim Cook has revealed in the past that by taking their repairs in-store, it could help Apple save a lot of money. As it stands, Apple Stores are currently accepting iPhone 5c handsets for screen repairs, but for iPhone 5s owners, your turn comes this Monday, hopefully.
