iphone_6_power_cableOver the years, Apple has redesigned its iPhone lineup several times over. However for the most part, Apple has kept its buttons mostly in the same place. This means that the home button will be at the bottom, the volume rockers and mute toggle on the left, and the power button at the top right corner of the phone.

However according to the rumors, Apple could be making some design changes with the iPhone 6. Besides the obvious difference in aesthetics, the iPhone 6 is said to feature a relocated power button which would be placed at the right hand side of the phone, which is also where the SIM try is located. If you were wondering how true those rumors are, several photos have leaked (via apple.club.tw) which are allegedly components belonging to the iPhone 6.

According to the one of the photos, it shows a flex cable with the power button. While the photo itself appears to be a bit blurry, it has been speculated that the button in question is the power button. Also according to Kyle Wiens of iFixit, it seems that the power button is larger than its predecessor, perhaps designed to accommodate a larger device, although this is really just speculation at this point in time.

It is also unclear if the parts belong to the 4.7-inch model or the 5.5-inch model, two alleged sizes that the iPhone 6 could be launching in. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but Apple is expected to announce their new iPhones later this year, possibly during September, so we guess we won’t have to wait much longer to see if the rumors pan out.
