Acer Updates C720 Chromebook With Intel Core i3 Processor
While Acer has been typically associated with Windows-based PC and notebooks, the company has also dabbled in other products, such as mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, and even Chromebooks. The Taiwanese company has been pretty aggressive with its Chromebooks and if you’re looking forward to seeing what Acer has up their sleeve, the company has recently announced the Acer C720 Chromebook with an Intel Core i3 processor.
According to Acer, the C720 Chromebook would essentially make them the first company to launch a Chromebook with an Intel Core i3 processor under the hood. The previous version of the Acer C720 came with an Intel Celeron processor, so for those looking to squeeze out some extra power, perhaps the update Core i3 model might be of interest to you.
Eric Ackerson, senior product marketing and brand manager, Acer America had this to say about Acer’s efforts. “This is an incredibly exciting time to be a leader in the Chromebook market, since customers are responding with tremendous enthusiasm for the product’s performance, capabilities and value. We’ve been breaking new ground with our Chromebooks since 2011, and our new Intel Core i3 model will deliver more of what our customers love about our Chromebooks, including excellent performance and all-day battery life.”
In terms of hardware specs, the C720 Chromebook from Acer will sport a 11.6-inch ComfyView HD display with a 1366×768 resolution. It will come with WiFi connectivity and a built-in webcam and microphone, along with the usual ports such as USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and HDMI. It will come with 32GB of SSD storage and will come in either 2GB or 4GB RAM options. The former will be priced at $349.99 while the latter will retail for $379.99.
