Well the good news is that the time has come as the Xbox One without the Kinect accessory has officially gone up for sale, as per Microsoft’s promise which was to launch the new console and its new price on the 9th of June. Gamers who are interested will be able to pick up their copy via the Microsoft Store (click here if you’re in the UK) or head on over to their local game retailer who should be selling the console at its new price, sans Kinect.
Like we said, it was a pretty controversial decision because many wondered if this was the right move for Microsoft. While the Xbox One is holding its own, it definitely does not appear to be catching up to the Sony PlayStation 4 which has sold several million units to date, a little more than what Microsoft is experiencing.
Retailers like GameStop have claimed to have seen an increased interest in the console when the price cut was announced, although recent reports have suggested that the majority of Xbox 360 gamers are still holding back from purchasing the new console, despite its lowered price tag. Either way we guess now that the new price has come into effect, we’ll just have to wait and see how it will impact the Xbox One’s sales.
