Now we all know that the Lumia 1020 is not a waterproof or even water resistant phone, but how it will survive the underwater trip is thanks to a case by Watershot Inc. As you can see in the image above, the Watershot Inc. certainly looks very sturdy and can most probably take a beating as well as a dip in water. The case is made from metal and will supposedly allow the Lumia 1020 to resist water as deep as 100 meters.
Now if you were hoping to get your hands on the case to take with you on underwater dives as well, you’re in luck because Watershot Inc. has announced that they would be making these cases available to the public, albeit in limited quantity. The company will be selling a limited batch of these cases where they are expected to retail for about $300 each, which is admittedly pretty expensive as far as cases are concerned.
According to WPCentral who got their hands on one, the case will come with four buttons that will allow you to operate your phone underwater. Now we should note that you shouldn’t expect to be able to to text or browse the web underwater since the buttons are mainly to either snap a photo, launch the camera app, toggled between the camera app’s modes, and to power off the camera to conserve battery.
If you were thinking about picking one up for yourself, head on over to Watershot Inc.’s website for the details.
