VLC For Windows Phone To Arrive In August [Rumor]

After VLC had successfully released their app for Windows 8 earlier this year, there were talks about the possibility about bringing it over onto Windows Phone as well. After all, VLC is available on both iOS and Android, so why wouldn’t it eventually make its way onto Windows Phone as well, right?

Now we know that the app is being worked on, thanks to a screenshot posted by VLC a few months ago, but when can we expect the app? Well according to Nawzil, a Twitter user who has posted fairly accurate rumors in the past, it seems that August could be a likely timeframe for the app to arrive on Windows Phone.

Nawzil claims that the app is currently in development and the folks at AppCampus are working with VLC to help develop and release the app. For those unfamiliar, AppCampus is a joint investment effort from both Microsoft and Nokia to help encourage mobile applications to be built for the Windows Phone platform.

However given VLC’s track record in the past when it comes to timely releases, perhaps that August date might be delayed at the last minute, who knows?
