Titanfall, a game title that has taken the world by storm, or at least among the Xbox and PC gaming fraternity, being an exclusive on that particular console platform and all, has proven itself to be a commercial success so much so that churning out a sequel to the game makes plenty of sense. However, why limit your future success to just one particular platform when you can always double your revenue (theoretically speaking) by expanding it to the fast selling Sony PS4 console as well? Apparently, there is a rumor going around that claims Titanfall’s sequel will lose its exclusivity to the Xbox and PC platforms, and instead, be made available on the PS4 as well.
At least, this is what we have gathered to a source cited by The Wall Street Journal to be “close to the development effort.” When asked to comment, Electronic Arts, Titanfall’s publisher, has decided to take the safe route by keeping mum on the situation. There were previous rumors as well that cited that the Titanfall sequel will no longer remain exclusive to Microsoft, which makes sense if one were to maximize the earnings from a particular game. After all, at the end of the day, money talks, and if it makes financial sense for a game publisher and studio to go ahead on a multiple platform rollout with enough resources, why not?
