Sony Xperia T3: World’s Slimmest 5.3-inch Smartphone
If you recall a post we did yesterday, it was about Sony posting a teaser image on their Twitter account which appeared to be related to a smartphone announcement. Sure enough it was about a smartphone, but instead of the Xperia Z Ultra successor that we and others had speculated it to be, it turned out to be the Sony Xperia T3.
We guess now that Sony has officially unveiled the device and called it the world’s slimmest 5.3-inch phone that the teaser image makes sense. The teaser, for those who missed our coverage, was shown from a side profile alongside the silhouette of a model, and now it makes sense since it was done to convey how slim it was, not how big it was.
That being said, with the Xperia T3 measuring a mere 7mm thin, it should appeal to those who want a mid-range phone that does not take up too much room in their pockets or bags. The phone will sport a 5.3-inch 720p HD display which is slightly disappointing. It will also be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, microSD card support, an 8MP Exmor RS camera at the back, a 1.1MP front-facing camera, a 2,500mAh battery with Android 4.4 KitKat running the show.
Like we said, the Xperia T3 appears to be a mid-range handset so if you’re not necessarily in the market for the best of the best hardware, then maybe the Xperia T3 could be worth your consideration. Pricing of the device has yet to be unveiled by given its specs, we doubt it will be breaking the bank. It will arrive in black, white, or violet, and will be hitting the shelves by the end of July.
