Pebble-steel-900-01

Pebble is undoubtedly a crowdfunding success story. The smartwatch is already quite popular and stacks up nicely against competitors from some of the biggest manufacturers in the market. Earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 the company unveiled Pebble Steel, a smartwatch that brought everything users loved about the original Pebble in a stainless steel body. Today it announced that the Pebble Steel price has now been cut and that it will be available from Best Buy starting June 15th.

The Pebble Steel sold on Pebble’s website costs $249 because it includes both leather and matching steel bands. As it becomes available in all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, as well as the retailer’s online store, the Pebble Steel will cost $229, the price is lower because it only includes the leather band.

The smartwatch will be offered in both brushed stainless and black matte finishes, along with a black leather strap. An additional color for the original Pebble was also announced. The new Arctic White joins Cherry Red and Jet Black at Best Buy for $149.

Best Buy was Pebble’s first retail partner last year so obviously there’s some love there. Its exclusively getting the stainless steel models as well, just like it got dips on the original Pebble last year. The company will continue to sell Pebble through its own website as well, but the tie-up with the major retailer will ensure maximum possible exposure to potential customers.
