That being said, if you wanted to own a piece of history, it seems that someone has taken to eBay and put up an auction for the very first iPhone. According to the listing, this is a “very rare” find (which we guess is true), and based on the photo it looks mint as it appears to still be in its shrink wrap. It comes with 4GB of onboard storage so there’s not a lot you can do with it considering how big some apps are today.
The asking price? A whopping $15,000. Yup, you read that right, if you wanted to have the pleasure and honor of owning the first ever iPhone, you’d have to fork out $15,000 for it which is more than enough to get you a decent second hand car. Now we’ve seen how older Apple devices have managed to fetch hundreds of thousands in auctions due to their historic nature, but could the first-gen iPhone fall under that category?
Well the seller certainly seems to think so. In any case we have to wonder if anyone will actually bid on it, but if you’re interested in checking out what the seller has to say, head on over to its eBay listing for the details.
