The folks over at NVIDIA do seem as though they are working on a new next-generation tablet, where such a device has already made its way to the FCC for approval. This yet to be announced device carries the model number NVIDIA P1761W, but other than that, very little else is known about it, other than the very real possibility of it being NVIDIA’s very own tablet that is set to hit the market soon shortly after its approval.
A document in the FCC does refer to it as a tablet PC, where there are label drawings which depict the outline of the device (which is relatively slim, actually), where it will be accompanied by what looks like speakers on the bottom, although there is every possibility of it ending up as docking connectors.
As for the rest of the hardware specifications, we are looking at 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, in addition to labels for North American, European, and global versions of the tablet. Another reference to this NVIDIA P1761W device would be the ST8, so we will keep our keen eyes peeled for any additional information. Could this be a sequel to the NVIDIA Tegra Note 7 tablet that will carry a brand new Tegra K1 processor? Who knows? Only time will be able to tell.
