Update – The trailer for Mortal Kombat X has since been released.
Just last week, NetherRealm’s creative director, Ed Boon, teased his followers on Twitter that a new Mortal Kombat game could be announced in the next few days. 5 days, to be exact, which puts it up for a launch on the 2nd of June. Given that it’s been a while since we last saw a Mortal Kombat game, safe to say many fans and gamers were looking forward to the next installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise.
However thanks to the folks at MP1st, they have managed to grab a screenshot of a listing on Amazon (which has since been taken down) that revealed the new game’s name and some of the platforms that it will be available on. As you can see in the screenshot above, the new Mortal Kombat title is expected to be called Mortal Kombat X, and from what we can tell, it will be available on pretty much all platforms.
The platforms listed includes the PC, the PS3, the PS4, the Xbox 360, and the Xbox One, although there was no mention as to whether the game would be arriving for the Nintendo Wii U. The listings also revealed that the game would most likely see a release in 2015, although we guess it’s pretty much speculation for now, at least until NetherRealm Studios can confirm it themselves, which we expect will be later today, so check back with us later for the details! In the meantime who else is excited for the game?
