According to a report from Deadline, they claim that Sony is one step closer to making the Metal Gear Solid movie a reality, by finding a director. The director in question is Jordan Vogt-Roberts who directed the movie The Kings of Summer last year. Talks about making the movie a reality began back in 2012 when Hideo Kojima revealed that they would be working with Avi Arad in creating a Metal Gear Solid movie.
So what has been taking so long? Well according to Deadline’s sources, “It just took so long for the game creators and the studio to find themselves on the same page in how to tell the story of protagonist.” The film is also said to focus on the Shadow Moses Incident, which for gamers who haven’t played the game since its inception, is based on the first Metal Gear Solid on the PSOne.
In any case we have no idea when the movie will start filming, let alone be released. Previously Arad had estimated 2015, although that was about a couple of years ago, so presumably that date has since been moved forward. Either way we guess they should spend their time getting it right instead of just rushing it, right?
