It has been known for quite some time already that Microsoft owns Nokia’s Devices and Services unit, and hence, it has been a question mark for many people as to what Nokia’s range of Lumia devices will evolve into eventually, considering how Nokia has been concentrating a whole lot on Windows Phone in recent years despite the seemingly overwhelming odds. Leakster @evleaks has shed some light on the situation, touting that the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 flagship device will also be known as McLaren.
The Nokia/Microsoft McLaren ought to arrive in time for the holiday season this year, where it is touted that Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile will have the McLaren as part of their holiday smartphone portfolio line up. Other than that, details are pretty much scant concerning the smartphone, but if the codename McLaren is anything to go by, it ought to be a speedy handset by all means and purposes.
Prior to the McLaren’s alleged launch, AT&T ought to introduce a Lumia smartphone known as Tesla, while Verizon ought to roll out a handset that is called Superman. These are touted to be mid-range smartphones with a possible Q3 debut date.
At the end of April, it is said that the Nokia Superman will come with a 5MP camera in front alongside a 4.7-inch display of unknown resolution. As with any other good rumor out there, only time will be able to tell whether these would end up as true or not.
