We’re pretty sure that the idea of using Master Chief’s helmet from the Halo franchise as a motorcycle is definitely not new, but the good news is that if you wanted to wear it and actually use it on the road without being pulled over, you will be able to do so come 2015. Back in November 2013, the National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) announced a partnership with 343 Industries to bring Halo-themed merchandize to life.

One of the collectibles included a Master Chief motorcycle helmet which has been approved as road legal by the Department of Transportation, so you will actually be able to wear it while you ride around on your motorcycle to the envy of Halo fans everywhere, and weird stares from people who are unfamiliar with the game series.

Unfortunately it seems that the helmet will not be available anytime soon and will only be arriving in 2015. As it stands the device is in its prototype phase at the moment, so we guess the good folks at NECA still have some work to do. According to the description of the helmet on NECA’s website, “Whether you’re on a Honda dirt bike, a custom Harley or a vintage Vespa, the Halo Master Chief Motorcycle Helmet will offer the full-face protection preferred by Master Chief (and savvy bikers everywhere). A.I. not included.”

So, who’s planning on getting their hands on one of these helmets upon its release?
