Apart from the size of the display, the display resolution, the processor, the camera, there are other factors that users take into consideration when choosing a smartphone, such as battery life. Now with so many smartphones out there today, which phone does best when it comes to battery life?
Well according to the folks at PhoneArena who have conducted tests on their own, it turns out that the recently announced LG G3 managed to blow the competition out of the water when it came to battery longevity. As you can see in the graph above, the LG G3 managed to hold its own against the likes of the Galaxy S5, Xperia Z2, HTC One M8, its predecessor the LG G2, and the iPhone 5s.
In fact compared against its predecessor, the LG G3 saw an improvement of about 2 hours of battery life which is mighty impressive! What makes the LG G3’s battery life even more impressive is the fact that the handset features slightly more powerful specs than its competition, namely its QHD display which would undoubtedly require more power.
According to PhoneArena, their test involved a custom web-script that has been designed to replicate the power consumption in a typical real-life usage scenario. Of course different users use their phones differently, so just because their tests gave them 8 hours and 50 minutes doesn’t mean you will get the same too.
Cranking your phone to full brightness and enabling LTE will probably end up draining it a lot faster, but in the meantime it’s still good to know that despite the QHD display, the LG G3’s battery life is a worthy competitor.
