It looks like Lenovo has a new Android powerhouse up its sleeve. The Chinese manufacturer, which also owns Motorola, might soon be about to launch a successor for the Lenovo Vibe Z that was released last year. The successor has reportedly been spotted at a China Mobile booth at the Mobile Asia Expo.
The reason why this is believed to be the Vibe Z’s successor is because it carried the K910 model number. The smartphone we see here has model number K920. Moreover its about time that Lenovo came out with a new smartphone that built up on the Vibe Z, so it all lines up.
By looking at the pictures, it seems like the Lenovo K920 has a unibody design built out of plastic, even though it looks metallic. It reportedly has a 6-inch 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution Quad HD or “2K” display. This may very well be the first Lenovo smartphone to offer such a high resolution.
Under the hood a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB RAM is expected. 32GB onboard storage, 5 megapixel front camera and a 16 megapixel rear shooter with Android 4.4 KitKat are also believed to be onboard. The rear camera may also have optical image stabilization, called “Optical Anti-Shake” by Lenovo.
No word as yet if and when this smartphone is going to make it out of China. Lenovo is yet to announce it in the People’s Republic.
