Soon you will be able to get a taste of Jolla on your Android device. The company officially announced today that a Sailfish OS Launcher for Android, called Jolla Launcher, will be released next week. Initially it will be made available through Alpha Testing for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 as well as other devices that are running Android 4.3 or higher.
June has been a good month for people who like to try out different launchers on their Android devices. Terrain was unveiled yesterday, developed by a Samsung-backed incubator. Nokia today unveiled the Z Launcher, which is surprisingly innovative. The Jolla Launcher is set to make an appearance soon, providing users with a risk-free way to trying out the Sailfish OS experience on their existing devices.
Jolla will initially be releasing the launcher to Alpha Testers. Fortunately the program is open for anyone. Simply follow the instructions provided by the company on its blog and wait to receive a Google Play installation link. Those who are interested to try it out are advised to get signed up prior to June 27th.
The company has said that the next phase for Jolla Launcher is planned after thorough testing has been carried out during Alpha Testing, it promises a launch for a wider audience once that happens.
