Jeff Bezo’s Amazon Fire Phone has been unveiled recently, where it has raised more than just a few eyebrows along the way, where this particular device sports four different front-facing cameras which would allow users to take advantage of 3D-like features in its interface. Considering how the smartphone market is currently dominated by iOS, Android and Windows Phone (with a small percentage covered by BlackBerry OS) platforms, the Amazon Fire Phone certainly needs to stand out of the crowd in order to build up its user base. Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s CEO, certainly has a sense of humor when he autographed an iPhone 5s with “Upgrade time?”
This is certainly a clever poke against Apple, and it shows that Jeff himself has the stomach for the fight. After all, an interview with Jeff in the past did see him share that he is doing his best to delay the inevitable – where one company will one day overtake Amazon and make it redundant, so the Amazon Fire Phone does seem to be a step in the right direction when it comes to making Amazon relevant among the big players.
For those who are interested, the Amazon Fire Phone will arrive later this July 25th for $199.99 a pop on a 2-year contract, which will be exclusively available via AT&T.
