It has merely been a day since Apple took the wraps off iOS 8 and already there’s some semblance of good news. Looks like an iOS 8 beta jailbreak is very much possible. The software was seeded to registered developers yesterday. Its the first beta of many before iOS 8 becomes ready for public release in the fall. One well known figure of the jailbreak community has already taken a look at the first beta of iOS 8 and believes that its jailbreakable.
This comes straight from Stefan Esser, a well known hacker who is widely known by his Twitter handle, @i0n1c. He downloaded the beta after it was seeded yesterday and discovered after initial tests that “iOS 8 beta does not fix anything.”
He’s probably referring to software level exploits that hackers use to jailbreak a device. @i0n1c has already showed off an iOS 7.1.1 untethered jailbreak but has apparently been holding off on release to ensure that the exploit isn’t patched by Apple in iOS 8.
Its possible that all those who have showed off their versions of the iOS 7.1.1 untethered jailbreak will hold off on the release, hoping to use that exploit for iOS 8. Even if an iOS 8 beta jailbreak is possible there’s no saying that a release will take place. Besides, these hackers rarely waste exploits on a beta release that’s not even meant for the general public.
