We’re sure there are many users out there who would love to get their hands on a 4K monitor. Unfortunately for the most part, 4K monitors are still pretty damn expensive. Sure, there are some exceptions but even then, those are still pretty pricey, at least compared to their Full HD counterparts.
That being said, the good news is that if you were looking forward to cheaper 4K monitors, the folks over at Intel and Samsung will be working together to bring the prices down. Intel has recently announced a partnership with Samsung in which they expect to start producing 4K monitors later this year that will cost as low as $399.
Intel also expects to extend this partnership to TDP and Viewsonic to achieve the same effect, which is to bring 4K monitor prices down to $399. Intel has also reassured that these monitors won’t be “cheap” in that sense either, and will even come with 60Hz refresh rates and 100% sRGB color gamut.
Of course it remains to be seen as to what Intel and Samsung could have compromised to bring the price down to $399, but in the meantime it definitely sounds like good news for customers who don’t want to spend more than $1,000 for a 4K monitor, but what do you guys think? Is $399 a fair price to be asking for when it comes to 4K monitors?
