HP Chromebox On Sale For $179

hp-chromebox-saleHP is a name that is familiar to all of us when it comes to desktop computers as well as notebooks, and this time around, the company’s maiden attempt at a desktop computer which will be powered by Google’s Chrome OS is now up for sale for $179 a pop. Known as the HP Chromebox, this is a diminutive desktop that will run on an Intel Haswell processor, sports 2GB RAM, has 16GB of internal memory, all of it crammed into a chassis that measures 5″ x 4.9″ x 1.5″.

To be more specific, it will be powered by a dual-core 1.4 GHz Intel Celeron 2955U processor, accompanied by a 16GB M.2 solid state drive, has connectivity options that comprise of 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0, sports an SDXC memory card reader, has HDMI and DisplayPort support, and a quartet of USB 3.0 ports to boot, in addition to a microphone and headset jacks.

Going for $179 a pop via its business division, the HP Chromebox does come with a more powerful option for those who feel that they need more processing muscle, where that will cost you $20 more, although it will translate to double the amount of RAM alongside a Celeron 2955U CPU. For $629 however, this massive leap in price would let you land with an HP Chromebox that has an Intel Core i7-4600U Haswell processor, Intel HD 440 graphics, 4GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.
