During E3 2014, it was announced that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V would be making its way onto the PC and next-gen consoles, like the Sony PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox One, although in all honesty we guess this was to be expected. Now Grand Theft Auto V in its current iteration in a beautiful game, but given that next-gen consoles sport better processors and GPU, what can we expect from the game?
Well the folks at DigitalFoundry have tossed together a new video that basically compares the PS3 and PS4 trailers, placing them side-by-side so that we can see the differences. We have to say that the differences like night and day, but like we said, GTA 5 on last-gen consoles already look pretty good, but if you really wanted the next-gen experience, then playing it on next-gen consoles might be the way to go.
The PS4 version of the trailer appears to be more “alive” and dynamic in terms of its lighting and the textures used. It also appears to be much more detailed compared to the PS3 version, assuming of course that this is in-game footage that we are looking at. There is much more subtlety going on in the PS4 version in terms of animation. The trees and grass also appear to be more saturated which helps create a more lush look.
In any case if you have a few minutes to spare, you can check out the video above to see the comparisons yourselves. For those who have seen it, what do you guys think? Will the GTA 5 experience be really different on the PS4 compared to the PS3?
