Earlier this year Fujifilm unveiled a new camera in the form of the Fujifilm X-T1. The camera is one of Fujifilm’s slightly more high-end offerings and came with a retro-like design and a bunch of control wheels on the camera that provided the photographer additional access to features and functions.
That being said, the folks at Fujirumors have heard from their sources that Fujifilm is expected to be announcing an upgrade over the X-T1. This announcement has been rumored to take place as early as July, which is a little odd given that the X-T1 is still relatively new, but apparently the upgrade will be a minor one, so it’s not like Fujifilm will be introducing an entirely new model.
According to their source, the new model could be known as the Fujifilm X-T1P. The main difference here would be the viewfinder, which will be getting an upgrade to 4.0k, versus the current model which is 2.36k. It appears that this is the extent of the upgrade, or at least what we know about it so far.
Their source went on to state that the announcement/release of the Fujifilm X-T1P could happen as soon as the first week of July, so if the Fujifilm X-T1 was a camera you were eyeing, perhaps you’ll want to wait until July, especially if rumors of an upgrade turn out to be true, but until then, take it with a grain of salt.
