We regularly cover quadcopters and drones here on Ubergizmo and the one that has caught our attention today is truly unique. Its quite literally a piece of edible technology. A quadcopter enthusiast built one out of chocolate. Even though it doesn’t use conventional build materials the copter is more than capable of flying.
Michael Niedermayr is the enthusiast in question who made this chocolate quadcopter. He teamed up with his girlfriend on this project, who happens to love baking chocolate, and simply poured melted chocolate on a mold and stuck it in the freezer. The essential mechanical parts were later added.
In case you were wondering its not some special kind of chocolate. The duo used over the counter stuff and then fitted the required components after it had set in place in the molds. They then took it outside in the open for a spin. The chocolate didn’t melt, at least in the video posted on YouTube, but since its bound to change its state one won’t be able to use it for long periods of time at a stretch.
Instructions to make your own edible quadcopter out of chocolate have been posted on YouTube. I don’t know about you, but if I were to ever get hit by a quadcopter in the face, i’d prefer it was this one.
