We’re not sure how they arrived at the August 18 date, especially since Photokina is taking place in September, so do take it with a grain of salt for now. Apparently the EOS 7D is currently experiencing out of stock status with dealers around the world, and is reportedly reaching its end of life stage, meaning that there is a good chance that a replacement could be on its way, if the rumors are to be believed.
The hardware specs of the EOS 7D MK II remains unknown. Back in February, the specs were leaked but were apparently not finalized, so there is a possibility that what we knew then could be different upon its official reveal. However for those wondering at what we could be looking at, rumored features like a 20-24MP Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor are some of them, a 61-point AF system akin to the EOS 5D MK III, Dual DIGIC V+ processor, and so on.
Like we said, these rumored specs are allegedly subject to change, so don’t take it as a be-all and end-all of specs for the EOS 7D’s successor, but do check back with us at a later date to see if there are any additional details that can be shared.
