King is a developer that just about everyone would be familiar with. After all, they are the ones behind the supremely popular Candy Crush Saga game, having raised quite a ruckus earlier this year when it comes to the trademark of the words “candy” and “saga“. Having stopped their trademark attempt in February, King has just launched Candy Crush Soda Saga on the Google Play store via a soft launch in the following countries: Canada, Sweden, Spain, and the Netherlands.
You know what they say – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I would like to think that the same formula applies here with Candy Crush Soda Saga, where the latest title does not venture away from the winning formula of its predecessor, where throughout the entire 75 levels of saccharine goodness, you will need to match various kinds of colorful candies.
Candy Crush Soda Saga claims to be set within a “mouth-watering”, “soda-soaked environment”. Soda here is not hanging around for free publicity, as it will affect the gameplay by causing candies to float, going the other way instead of falling down in its predecessor, Candy Crush Saga. While it remains a soft launch at the moment, do expect Candy Crush Soda Saga to arrive on Android for the masses some time later this year, iOS users included.
