As we’re sure most players are aware by now, but Bungie’s upcoming shooter, Destiny, will be released on a multitude of platforms. This means that gamers will be able to enjoy the game, regardless of which platform they are playing on, save for the Wii U. However it seems that over in Japan, it could be a different story.
Sony Japan has recently announced that Destiny in Japan will be exclusive to the Sony PlayStation platform. This means that gamers on the Xbox 360 or the Xbox One will be out of luck if they are in Japan. However this means the PS3 and PS4 gamers will be gaining an exclusive over their Xbox friends.
It is unclear why they are making the game an exclusive to the PlayStation platform in Japan, or if it might only be a timed exclusive, but we guess it will be a boon for PlayStation gamers. This isn’t Bungie’s first exclusive rodeo. Back in the day they made the Halo franchise exclusively for the Xbox platform, so we guess in Japan, Sony is about to have their due.
The game will be released in the West on the 9th of September. Gamers in Japan, however, can look forward to its release on the 11th of September. As for gamers in Japan who are looking forward to the Xbox One, it will see a release on the 4th of September.
