Back in January 2013 Netflix showed off its “Super HD” streaming. A few months later it made the decision to jump to ultra-high definition. It announced plans to begin streaming content in 4K. The UHD library has limited content right now but today it gets a massive addition. Breaking Bad 4K Netflix streaming has officially begun today. Subscribers can streaming the series in ultra-high definition in all markets where Netflix is available right now.
Netflix had actually confirmed last month that Breaking Bad 4K streaming will begin this June so its right on schedule. Last month it also committed to streaming all of its original shows in 4K and House of Cards, one of its most popular original show, is already available in ultra-high definition.
The announcement came from Joris Evers of Netflix on Twitter. Unfortunately the 4K stream will not work on the web, in both the Silverlight and HTML5 player. Evers says that for now Breaking Bad 4K streaming will only be available on Ultra HD 4K smart TVs that support Netflix in 4K.
You would also need a considerably fast internet connection to be able to stream content in ultra-high definition. You can check Netflix’s recent list of ISP performance to check if your connection is good enough to handle it.
