In case you haven’t been keeping an eye on the iMac’s prices, the cheapest model you could get at that time was $1,299. However as you can see in Apple’s online store and in the screenshot above, the cheapest iMac that you can get is now a more affordable $1,099. Unfortunately due to its lower price tag, Apple had to make some concessions.
The cheapest model now features a 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core-i5 processor, while previously it used to sport a 2.7GHz processor. It also had its hard drive capacity cut into half and is now at 500GB. The GPU has also been downgraded, but unless you absolutely need the processor speed and graphics power, we suppose the new base model should be more than capable of getting the job done.
The remaining models of the iMacs are still around and available for purchase, and according to the shipping estimates, they’re all available to be shipped out in the next 24 hours, so if you wanted to get a new iMac ASAP, you can head on over to Apple’s online store and place your order.
