Angry Birds shot to global popularity after first being released on iOS a few years back. Its truly a phenomenon in its own right. Now its available for a wide variety of platforms but Rovio, the game’s developer, just made one of the biggest changes to the franchise. Unlike all previous installments, the latest Angry Birds title is actually a turn-based RPG. Called Angry Birds Epic, the game has been released today for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
Despite the fact that this RPG title differs from previous Angry Birds games, the theme is very much the same. The green pigs have stolen the birds’ eggs and they’re out to get revenge. So a group of heroic birds set out to reclaim their unhatched offspring.
But the pigs aren’t resting easy. Prince Porky and Cactus Knight, their leaders, try their level best to keep the birds at bay. Just like any other RPG every character in Angry Birds Epic has its own weakness and abilities. This means that players will have to use different strategies to get through different levels of the game.
Even though Angry Birds Epic is available as a free download from the App Store, Google Play Store and the Windows Phone Store, there are quite a few in-app purchases that players can take advantage of.
