Well the catch is that you have to be an Amazon Prime subscriber. For those who already are Prime subscribers, you will be able to access it for free on your smartphone, tablet, and/or computer. For those who aren’t Prime subscribers, you will have access to the service for a 30-day trial, after which you will have to subscribe to Amazon Prime at $99 a year to continue using it.
Given that there are perks to being a Prime subscriber, apart from being able to receive Prime Music for free, it could end up being to your benefit if you were to sign up, if you haven’t already. Prime Music is expected to function the same way as Prime Video, which is that users will be able to browse an entire library of music or check out pre-made playlists for some recommendations.
There will be an offline mode where users will be able to download songs and access them when they don’t have an internet connection. As it stands, Prime Music will only be available to US customers and the accompanying Amazon Music app is available only on iOS and Android devices, so it looks like BlackBerry and Windows Phone users will be out of luck for now.
