According to earlier rumors, it was suggested that Samsung could be debuting an Android Wear wearable device at Google I/O which will be kicking off in a few hours’ time. While Samsung has wearables of their own, this could make it their first Android Wear device which is interesting, since it seemed like Samsung was planning on going their own path.
That being said, a report from ALT1040 has revealed the possible name and specs of the upcoming device. The report claims that Samsung’s Android Wear wearable will be known as the Gear Live. Once again this is an interesting choice since the lack of a Galaxy moniker would suggest that it is a non-Android device.
Then again we don’t know how much credence we can put in this rumor so do take it with a grain of salt for now. The report goes on to reveal some of the device’s alleged specs, which includes a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage, a 300mAh battery, a heart rate monitor, and will pair with smartphones via Bluetooth 4.0.
Finally ALT1040 claims that the Samsung Gear Live could be going up for sale on the 7th of July, which coincidentally enough is also the same time that the LG G Watch is supposed to go on sale. In any case like we said, take it with a grain of salt for now, but with only a few hours to go, we guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out the truth.
