As you can see, the photos depict a rather large device which could easily pass off as a tablet, given its 7-inch display, but we guess Samsung has other design ideas and thought it would be a great idea to turn it into a phone. The resolution on the Galaxy W isn’t that great at 720p HD, but if you’re not the type that cares, then we guess it should be more than good enough to get the job done.
The Galaxy W will also be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and will be accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM. There will also be 16GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and oddly enough will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean preinstalled. Given that we’re in 2014, we would have expected Android 4.4 KitKat at the very least.
The phone will also come with a 3,500mAh battery which is pretty decent, although given the size of its display, the phone will probably need the battery to keep it alive. The Samsung Galaxy W has also been priced at around $490 in South Korea, which is actually pretty decent for its specs, but no word if the handset will be making its way stateside or to other parts of the world.
