Developer of Weed Firm, Manitoba Games, has this to say about the situation. “This was entirely Apple’s decision, not ours. We guess the problem was that the game was just too good and got to number one in All Categories, since there are certainly a great number of weed based apps still available, as well as games promoting other so-called ‘illegal activities’ such as shooting people, crashing cars and throwing birds at buildings.”
There are other titles such as Weed Farmer and Weed Tycoon which remain available for download over at the App Store, but perhaps the reason for that is, both mention apps have yet to hit the heights of popularity that Weed Firm has? Is this selective prosecution that we are looking at here, or is it just a short sighted move? The developer intends to make some tweaks to Weed Firm which will hopefully see the game make its way back to the App Store eventually.
