Apparently, sources on the street have pointed out that the first two smartphones which will arrive with support for XLTE will be the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8). Although it has been said that an OTA update is supposedly required, such a detail remains to be confirmed, so it pretty much remains in the air as at press time. Just what kind of performance does the XLTE network offer? It is said to come with double the bandwidth in select U.S. cities, which is good news for those who deal with bandwidth intensive media, while peak speeds on XLTE will be faster compared to Verizon’s existing LTE pipeline. Best of all is, customers need not change any settings in order to access the new network.
