When it comes to timepieces, there are different schools of thought here. Some folks think that watches should be all digital in order to keep up with the times, while others prefer the analogue watch face as it retains that classic elegance of the timepiece. While others who are extremely well off would not settle for anything less than a diamond studded Rolex, there are some who would be happy with a $20 Casio with a plastic strap. Tokyoflash of Japan, however, has taken an entirely different approach in the art of watchmaking, with their latest release being the Tokyoflash Kisai Xtal Wood.

Many Tokyoflash offerings in the past do require some sort of brainpower in order to decipher the current time, and with the Tokyoflash Kisai Xtal Wood, the same also applies. Touted to be “mysterious”, the Kisai Xtal Wood watch will merge a crystalline shaped natural wood case alongside a faceted mineral crystal lens as well as a cryptic yet simple to read LED time display.

You will be able to choose from dark sandalwood with red or green LEDs, as well as maple wood with blue or white LEDs, making this one limited edition timepiece design that will include a couple of different time display modes, date mode, alarm and half a dozen user-selectable animations. The asking price? Those who decide to pick it up before May 29th can do so for $109, where after that, it will be bumped up to the recommended retail price.
