At E3 2013 Ubisoft announced its new online survival title Tom Clancy’s The Division. Leveraging at least three of Ubisoft’s studios, including Reflections and Red Storm, this title is under Ubisoft Massive’s leadership. Initially The Division was expected to be released in fiscal 2015. Ubisoft has announced today that the title’s release for PS4, Xbox One and PC has been delayed until Q2 2015.
A fiscal 2015 release would have meant that the title be released prior to 31st March 2015. By Ubisoft’s own admission that isn’t going to happen. It now pegs the release between calendar year 2015, which runs through April 1st and December 31st. This is too wide of a time frame and the possibility exists that we might even have to wait for up to an entire year for The Division.
The developer team wrote on its website that they don’t want to compromise on quality and will release the game when its ready. “We are creating something we are really proud of,” the team writes.
Other announcements Ubisoft made today include the release date for Far Cry 4, which will be available for previous and next generation consoles alongside PC on November 18th. It also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be available for next gen consoles and PC this fall. Previously this title was expected around the “holiday season.”
