Assuming that Sony is keeping to the tradition of launching two flagship phones a year, it seems that there is a good chance that the Xperia Z3 could debut in the later part of 2014 as well. That being said, photos have surfaced which shows off the alleged metal frame that will be part of the Xperia Z3’s design. The photos don’t really show much but based on what we can see, it appears to be pretty thin.
The handset is also rumored to be given a PVD treatment on its body, which will essentially help create a mirrored stainless steel look. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Sony use such a design (think Walkman), so it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that they’re interested in bringing it back. Other rumored specs includes a Full HD 1080p display, a Snapdragon 805 chipset with 3GB of RAM, a 20.7MP camera, and presumably will be running on the latest version of Android, or at the very least Android 4.4 KitKat.
These are interesting rumors, although we have to wonder why Sony has considered Full HD instead of QHD, which is what the LG G3 and the Galaxy S5 Prime will be sporting, but since these are only rumors for now, do take it with a grain of salt until we hear from Sony officially.
