This is according to a filing with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, where Sony has filed for two new devices with the model numbers CUH-1106A and the CECH-4306CH. The former will be the upgraded version of the PS4, given that the current Asian model of the PS4 is the CUH-1006A.
According to DualShockers, they believe that the difference in the model numbers suggests a slight upgrade, as opposed to a more drastic overhaul. It is unclear as to what the changes could be, but they have eliminated the possibility of a hard drive change, since this would involve the changing of the lettering at the end of the model.
As for the PS3, the change in model numbers seem to suggest that it could be an evolution of the PS3 super slim model. Given that the current model has been sold out at many major retailers, it seems to make sense that a newer model could be introduced, although once again it is unclear as to what the changes could entail.
No word on when Sony will announce these new models of the PS3 and the PS4, but given that E3 2014 is around the corner, perhaps Sony will make their announcements then. Until then we suggest you take it with a grain of salt for now.
