Samsung NX1 Mirrorless Camera Rumored For Photokina 2014

Android-powered cameras, at least at the start, seemed like a way for OEMs like Samsung to cash in on the Android trend. But at the same time, we did note that as cameras got smarter, it became harder for camera software to catch up, which saw the need for the use of Android to help things along. Well if you’re looking for a new Samsung Android powered camera, like the Galaxy NX, you might be interested to learn that Samsung could be announcing the NX1 at Photokina.

This is according to what appears to be a slide from Samsung which shows the Samsung NX1 will be the company’s new flagship camera, and has been speculated for a possible announcement at Photokina which is taking place in September. Samsung has yet to confirm any of this, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but with Photokina being a photography-centric event, we don’t see why not.

The rumored specs of the Samsung NX1 right now includes a 28MP APS-C sensor. It will also reportedly be able to record videos in 4K, and will be powered by Android, just like Samsung’s previous cameras. Samsung will also be taking a leaf from their Galaxy S5 handset by making weather sealing the camera, as well as announcing splash and dust proof lenses.
