We have heard the rumors that Samsung could be planning a new series of Android tablets that would see the return of AMOLED displays, versus LCD displays which are used by Samsung in their tablets at the moment. These devices are reportedly part of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S lineup, although there was no mention of which such devices would be unveiled, until now.
According to reports from Russian website, Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru, they claim that Samsung will be unveiling their new tablets on the 11th of June in an event held in New York. However at the same time, a report from The Wall Street Journal has suggested that the date will be the 12th of June instead.
We’re not sure what’s with the conflicting reports but either way it seems that we can look forward to either the 11th or 12th of June to learn more about these tablets. So far we have heard the rumors about the Galaxy Tab S tablets, which is that they will come in a couple of different sizes: 8.4-inches and 10.5-inches.
Both tablets will feature a 2560×1600 display, so if you wanted a tablet with a higher pixel density, then the 8.4-inch model might be a better choice. Both devices will also be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5420 chipset, meaning that we can look forward to four 1.9GHz A15 cores, and four 1.3GHz A7 cores. The tablets will also feature an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2.1MP front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, LTE connectivity, and Android 4.4 KitKat.
In any case we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information regarding the tablet’s launch, so do check back with us at a later date for the details.
