Makers of the Pebble smartwatch have today announced an update for both the software and the mobile applications. For those who don’t know Pebble initially started out as a crowdfunding project and is now one of the most popular smartwatches out there. Earlier this year the company also made some updates to its smartwatch. Over time it has greatly improved the device and continues to do so with software updates just like the ones announced today.
Today’s update bumps up the smartwatch’s firmware version to 2.1. Apart from bringing a host of bug fixes and improvements the update fixes an issue with caller ID not being displayed on outgoing calls. It also improves Bluetooth reliability when reconnection to the mobile device. Users will also notice improved consistency of battery monitoring following the update.
One new feature that completely stands out in this update is the addition of a new menu entry for clearing notification history. Pebble is capable of pulling notifications from the mobile device it is connected to. In order to clear the entire list users can open Settings, enter Notifications and select Clear History. Its as simple as that.
The update for Pebble Android application fixes the crash-on-boot issue that some users were facing. The Pebble iOS app enables more new JavaScript apps to be downloadable in the Pebble appstore.
