Unfortunately if you were looking forward to the Snapdragon 805 chipset in the Pantech Vega Iron 2, you might be disappointed to learn that according to a recent report from Korean website, Ruliweb, it seems that the Vega Iron 2 will not end up using the Snapdragon 805, but rather the Snapdragon 801 instead, which we guess is not a bad thing.
Assuming that is the case, the device spotted on AnTuTu could be a different handset or Pantech might have had a change of heart along the way. That being said, Ruliweb also managed to get their hands on several leaked photos of the device, which you can see in the image to the right.
As far as the rest of the phone’s specs are concerned, the Vega Iron 2 is said to sport a 5.3-inch Full HD 1080p display. It will come with 3GB of RAM, a 3,140mAh battery, and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. The device is also said to measure 7.9mm thin while encased in a metal body, making it a pretty slim and premium-feeling handset. Pantech is also expected to make their announcement soon although no word on whether it will see a launch stateside.
Pantech has launched several device in the US before so it would not be a stretch of the imagination to think that they might be interested in bringing the Vega Iron 2 stateside, but it remains to be seen.
