Sony recently released their latest compact, the Sony RX100M3, and if you were wondering what’s next for Panasonic, word on the street has it that the Panasonic LX8 is due for an announcement in the coming months, the 16th of July to be exact. This is according to the folks at PhotoRumors who were tipped off to the possible announcement in July.
The details of the rumored Panasonic LX8 remain scarce for now, but their sources have informed them that the camera will come with a built-in EVF and include a larger sensor, which could put it on par with the recently announced Sony RX100M3. The LX8’s predecessor, the LX7, was announced on the 18th of July 2012, so assuming that Panasonic is keeping to their two-year cycle, there is a good chance that this rumor is true.
Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us at a later date to see if there are any additional details to be had.
