The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset designed to help create a more immersive gaming experience, as well as to allow the wearer of the headset to experience certain things they normally wouldn’t, such as playing Sonic the Hedgehog game from a first-person perspective. However one modder has decided to switch things up a bit and has created a mod for the Oculus Rift that allows gamers to experience what it is like playing the Nintendo Game Boy.
The mod basically puts the gamer in a living room where they get to play a Nintendo Game Boy. It does sound a little “dull”, but at the same time it is an interesting experience because the Nintendo Game Boy is no longer available for purchase, at least the original one, meaning that there are some gamers who might not have had the chance to play it.
It also allows gamers to relive some nostalgia by playing with the console again, albeit in a virtual setting. Like we said it’s a pretty interesting idea, although not as exciting as some of the other mods we’ve seen.
However it also shows that the Oculus Rift could be a good way to allow people to experience certain things that might not be as common anymore, like taking a trip back in time. In any case for those who own an Oculus Rift headset, you can go ahead and download the mod, or you can check out the video above to see the mod in action.
