Nokia Lumia 630 In Brazil Sports Integrated Digital TV Support

It was just three days ago when we brought you word of Nokia launching the Nokia Lumia 630 over in India, making it the first Windows Phone 8.1 device to roll out from Microsoft’s Nokia division in that part of the world. That particular smartphone looks to be well on its way to do well in the market there, as well as in other emerging markets courtesy of its relatively affordable pricing as well as features that are set to please, including a 4.5” display and dual SIM support. Folks over in Brazil, however, look set to experience something more than no one else around the globe can – with the inclusion of integrated digital TV support.

According to Gizmodo Brasil, the Nokia Lumia 630 that was rolled out in the country that will host the World Cup later this summer, will sport integrated digital TV support. This feature seems to be available solely on the dual SIM variant of the Lumia 630, where it will cost R$699 BRL (converted to approximately $315) apiece. Those who find that their pocket strings are a wee bit more tight at the moment might want to settle for the single SIM model of the Lumia 630 that will obviously skip digital TV support, although it will be cheaper at R$549 ($247 USD).

Microsoft Brasil claims that the Lumia 630’s digital TV feature will make use of the SBTVD standard, which is also known as ISDB-T International. This standard that is based on Japan’s ISDB-T, is widely available throughout Latin America, where it relies on H.264/MPEG-4 AVC compression with video delivered at 30fps.
